As a structures member, you will be part of and responsible for designing, producing, and optimizing vital rocket components such as the rocket shell, skeleton, and recovery systems. You can also work with ground systems necessary for engine testing and rocket launch.

What you will learn: 

  • Design, build and test mechanical structures which are integral for the rocket, such as the skeleton, shell, and recovery system.

  • Material research and optimizing structural design using CAD, prototyping by welding, and machining. 

  • Develop and improve simulations of rocket trajectory using computational methods such as Monte Carlo simulations. 

  • Work systematically to solve complex engineering problems, collaborating with others on challenging projects.

 

Prerequisites:

  • Student in Oslo who wants to learn more about technical practice in rocket science.

  • Have an interest in innovation, rocket engineering, and mechanics.

  • Result oriented with a focus on simple and practical solutions.

  • Motivated, engaged, curious, and are not afraid of responsibility.

  • Is available to contribute 10 to 15 hours each week on average.
